Pittsburg police ask for public's help in locating three murder suspects

PITTSBURG, Calif. —

Police have identified three suspects wanted in connection with the murder of a 20-year-old man at a Pittsburg gas station last week, a police lieutenant said Wednesday.

Bay Point resident Brian Keith Fox, 22, Robert Gary Grant, 24, and 19-year-old Demetria Thomas are all suspects linked to the fatal shooting of Timothy Smith, Jr. at a Union 76 gas station on Jan. 29, Lt. Ron Raman said.

The shooting was reported around 9 a.m. at the gas station at 2150 Railroad Ave., sending customers running and leaving Smith with a fatal gunshot wound to the head, according to authorities.

He was pronounced dead later that day.

Raman declined to disclose a motive for the killing, but said that Smith was "definitely the intended target."

Police quickly identified Fox as a suspect in the slaying and said Wednesday that Thomas and Grant are also suspects.

All three have criminal histories.
