Police arrest suspect in Oakley kidnapping

SAN FRANCISCO —

San Francisco police arrested a man on Saturday suspected of the Dec. 10 kidnapping and rape of a woman in Oakley, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office.

Stephen Clark, 45, of Oakley was taken into custody at around midnight Saturday near the corner of Gough Street and Geary Boulevard, sheriff's officials said.

Clark, a registered sex offender, was suspected of kidnapping and raping a 43-year-old woman in Oakley on Dec. 10 after meeting her at a local establishment, according to the sheriff's office.
