Police arrest two in beating outside Petaluma billiards club, victim hospitalized

PETALUMA, Calif. —

Police arrested a 21-year-old Rohnert Park man and a teenager who allegedly beat and seriously injured a man outside of a Petaluma billiards club early Friday morning, police said.

Officers responded around 12:25 a.m. to a report of the assault outside of Buffalo Billiards at 246 Petaluma Blvd. North. Police found the victim, a 23-year-old Petaluma man, on the ground suffering from serious head injuries, police said.

The man was rushed to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.

Police said officers searched the area for the suspects who had beaten and kicked the victim. Police located the two suspects determined to be involved in the assault and arrested both on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon based on the victim's injuries.

Officers took the first suspect, Giovanni Khuri, 21, to jail on $30,000 bail. Khuri posted bail and was released.

The second suspect, a 17-year-old boy, was cited and released, police said.
