Police in Oakland were investigating a shooting that left two people hospitalized Thursday afternoon, according to authorities.
Just before 4 p.m., a car near the intersection of 24th Street and Market was shot numerous time. The driver and one passenger in the vehicle were hit. The driver continued to drive for almost 20 blocks before finally stopping in a driveway where police found the bullet-ridden vehicle at 41st and Market.
The two people had suffered gunshot wounds and were taken to Highland Hospital. There was no word on their condition.
Police remained on the scene investigating the incident.
