SAN RAFAEL, Calif. —

A man was shot on a platform at the San Rafael Transit Center Friday afternoon, a San Rafael police spokeswoman said.

The 22-year-old victim was on Platform D around 1 p.m. when a man pulled up on Tamalpais Drive, got out of a gold sedan and shot at him, police spokeswoman Margo Rohrbacher said.

The victim ran but collapsed on Platform B and was taken to Marin General Hospital, Rohrbacher said. She did not know the extent of the victim's injuries.

The shooter then got back into the sedan and drove to Second Street, then south onto U.S. Highway 101, according to Rohrbacher.

Police issued an all-points bulletin regarding the sedan and blocked roads in the area but the vehicle had not been located as of this afternoon, Rohrbacher said.

The armed shooter is between 6 feet 2 inches and 6 feet 4 inches tall and was wearing dark clothing, Rohrbacher said.

Platforms C and D are still closed but platforms B and C had reopened Friday afternoon, according to Rohrbacher.
