SAN FRANCISCO —

San Francisco police Friday were searching for a man who attacked teenage girl and her mother on a crowded Muni bus.

According to police, the attack took place last weekend when a man boarded a crowded Muni bus at Mission and Onondaga Ave.

The man – standing 6-2, balding and wearing a black sweatshirt – began to push his way through the crowded aisle when the teenage girl shoved him back and yelled at him. The two got into a confrontation during which the man punched the teenager and then started to strangle her.

The girl’s mother stepped in to stop the assault but was also punched before the man fled the bus.
