Police search for suspect who grabbed buttocks of Santa Cruz girl

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. —

 Police in Santa Cruz are searching for a man they say grabbed a 12-year-old girl in the buttocks on Friday afternoon.

The victim had been walking home from school in the 500 block of Walnut Avenue when the suspect approached her from behind and groped her, according to Santa Cruz police.

The victim was not injured, and the suspect was last seen running up a flight of stairs leading to Grover Land and Towne Terrace, police said.

Several officers responded to the area, but the suspect was not found.

The victim provided details of the suspect's description to investigators. A sketch of the man can be seen online.
