VALLEJO, Calif. —
Police in Vallejo were asking for the public's help Sunday in identifying the driver of a car that fatally struck an 88-year-old woman earlier this month.
The woman was struck at the intersection of Alameda and Virginia streets at about 5:20 p.m. on Nov. 16th, according to police.
She succumbed to her injuries on Nov. 21st.
The vehicle fled the scene, and police are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of the driver.
The car was a silver 2001-2003 4-door Mazda Protigi, police said.
It was captured on video surveillance moments before the collision.
Police said there would likely be significant damage on the front driver's side of the Mazda, including a broken left headlight and probable windshield damage.
The car was last seen heading east on Tennessee Street.
Anyone with information about the case or the suspect vehicle was asked to contact Vallejo police Officer Geo9rge Simpson at (707) 648-4014.
