Police in Vallejo were continuing to investigate the motives of a woman who, while naked, apparently fired several gunshots and killed a man at a mobile home park Wednesday morning.
According to Vallejo Police, the shooting occurred around 5:45 a.m. Wednesday at Vallejo Mobile Estates on the 100 block of San Miguel Road.
“When officers arrived at the home, they did find a man in his 40’s who had been shot,” said Lt. Kenny Park with Vallejo Police.
It was earlier reported that the victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his wounds, but as of noon, according to police sources, the body had not been removed from the home as police continue to investigate.
For hours, Vallejo Police along with SWAT and the Solano County Sheriff’s blocked off the only vehicle entrance and exit, only allowing residents to leave if they opened the trunks of their cars, making sure nobody was inside.
Shortly before 9 a.m. however, police were able to catch and arrest the female suspect trying to climb a barbed wire fence that surrounds the mobile home complex.
“She was apprehended, trying to leave the mobile home park on foot,” said Park.
It was unclear whether she was clothed or nude when she was caught. A neighbor who lives next door to the crime scene tells KTVU that he didn’t know the residents where the shooting took place, but believes the victim and suspect were dating.
The neighbor also said there were two other people living at the home, perhaps the parents of either the suspect or the victim.
“We heard a little arguing once in a while, but we keep to ourselves,” said neighbor Bill Snyder.
Police had yet to release the identities of the suspect and victim Wednesday afternoon.
Some tragedies at hospitals might be unavoidable, but a mother and father who lost their 21 month old daughter at Children's Hospital Oakland say it's what happened after their daughter's death that has continued to torment them.
