PITTSBURG, Calif. —

BART police are looking for witnesses to a shooting in a parking lot at the Pittsburg station that left an 18-year-old Richmond man in critical condition Thursday night.

The victim was in the driver's seat of a white Toyota Camry at the time of the shooting, which was reported at 6:50 p.m., according to Deputy Police Chief Ben Fairow.

While it is unclear if the victim was driving or sitting parked at the time of the shooting, his car crashed into parked cars after he was struck, Fairow said.

The teen is out of surgery Friday and in recovery, but still listed in critical condition, Fairow said.

Police do not have any suspect descriptions yet, but the suspect vehicle was described as a black Nissan Maxima with tinted windows, a rear spoiler and the left rear tail light out, Fairow said.

Investigators believe there were probably at least two suspects in the vehicle, one driver and one shooter, Fairow said.

Police are hoping that someone witnessed the shooting or can identify the suspect vehicle. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call (510) 464-7011.
