SAN RAFAEL, Calif. —

Police are asking the public to help track down a man who robbed a San Rafael bank earlier this month.

On Jan. 4 at 5:12 p.m. the suspect entered the Westamerica Bank at 1177 Francisco Blvd. East and walked directly to a teller and demanded money, San Rafael police said.

No weapon was seen or mentioned, police said.

He was given cash and then fled on foot.

He was described as a white man in his 30s, standing between 5 feet 6 inches and 6 feet 1 inch and weighing between 160 and 200 pounds with a muscular build, according to police.

He was unshaven, with some scruff. He was last seen wearing a black beanie, black sunglasses and a black hooded sweatshirt.

Photos of the suspect with his hood off were taken just outside the bank before the robbery and inside the bank with his hood on during the heist, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call San Rafael police Detective Cpl. Todd Berringer at (415) 485-3017.
