LIVE OAK, Calif. —

A Live Oak man employed by the Scott's Valley Unified School District was arrested this week on suspicion of inappropriately touching children and exposing himself to a child, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office.

Carl Guerin, 51, was arrested Wednesday following an investigation initiated in January, Sgt. Patrick Dimick said today.

Guerin is the director of technology at the Scott's Valley Unified School District but does not have contact with students, Dimick said. His alleged crimes are believed to have been isolated to children he was acquainted with and not connected to the school district.

Guerin was initially arrested on suspicion of one count of lewd and lascivious acts on a child under 14, but a follow up investigation uncovered additional crimes, Dimick said.

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact the sheriff's office at (831) 454-2311.
