SF man dies in overnight Ingleside District shooting

SAN FRANCISCO —

A 26-year-old man was shot and killed early Thursday morning in San Francisco's Ingleside neighborhood, police said.

The shooting was reported at 12:18 a.m. in the 700 block of Mount Vernon Avenue.

Officers responded and found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, including one to the head, according to police.

The victim, whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

No arrests had been made and no suspect information was immediately available this morning, police said.

A neighbor in the 200 block of Howth Street, who heard the gunshots, said he saw emergency responders cover the body at the corner of Mount Vernon Avenue and Howth Street.
