MONTE SERENO, Calif. —

Authorities say a Silicon Valley venture capitalist and his wife were the victims of a violent home-invasion in an upscale Santa Clara County suburb.

The San Jose Mercury News reports 66-year-old Raveesh Kumar Kumra was found dead early Friday in his family's sprawling mansion in Monte Sereno.

His wife Harinda Kumra was taken to a hospital after she called 911 around 1:30 a.m. Friday to report that several intruders had ransacked their home and beaten her.

The Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department has released a sketch of one of the suspects, warning that he and others are still at large.

Raveesh Kumar Kumra was a wealthy venture capitalist who invested in technology firms and once owned the historic Mountain Winery, which is a popular concert venue in Saratoga.
