EMERYVILLE, Calif. —

An operation aimed at cracking down on the commercial sexual exploitation of children led to eight arrests in Emeryville last week, including six adults and two 15-year-old children, authorities announced today.

The two 15-year-olds were taken into custody and provided with counseling and medical services, authorities said.

The Alameda County Vice Enforcement Team led the operation over a six-hour period last Thursday evening with assistance from at least 11 other local, state and federal agencies. Counselors from Bay Area Women Against Rape also assisted in the operation.

Undercover officers conducted the operation at hotel in Emeryville, where the prostitution ring was doing business.

Steven Iniguez, 26, of El Sobrante and Jose Lopez, 33, of San Pablo were arrested on suspicion of solicitation of prostitution, police said.

Brittany Boyd, 20, of San Jose and Sara Heinicke, 24, of San Francisco were arrested on suspicion of solicitation of prostitution and loitering with the intent to prostitute.
