San Jose police responded to three stabbings and a shooting in San Jose within a 24-hour period this past weekend, police said.
The first report came at 12:40 a.m. Saturday, when a person called about suffering a stab wound in an attack by three people in the 100 block of North Seventh Street two blocks north of San Jose State University, police said.
The victim told police that the person who committed the stabbing made a gang statement and then fled the scene with the other two, police said.
The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and all three suspects remain at large, police said.
A separate stabbing was reported at 3 p.m. in the 1500 block of Hillcap Avenue in an industrial area between Snell Avenue and state Highway 82 in south San Jose.
The suspect came up and stabbed the victim with a sharp object and fled. The victim was treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Police located and arrested the suspect on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and booked the person into the Santa Clara County Jail in San Jose.
At 11:40 p.m., in the 4100 block of Monterey Road beside state Highway 82 in south San Jose, a victim said that two people approached and one stole an item while the other stabbed the victim, police said.
The wounded person was taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening and police are still searching for the two suspects.
At 12:09 a.m. Sunday, a person called to report being shot at the intersection of Lanai and Cunningham avenues near the Harry Slonaker Academy school between South King Road and U.S. Highway 101.
The victim was treated at a hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.
Officers followed up on information from a witness and arrested a juvenile on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and booked the minor into Santa Clara County Juvenile Hall, police said.
