SANTA CRUZ, Calif. —

Santa Cruz police arrested a man who pulled a gun during an argument after a short foot pursuit early Saturday morning, police said.

Shortly after midnight, police responded to the 200 block of Cathcart Street after receiving a report of a man brandishing a gun.

The suspect had fled toward the double-decker parking garage at Church and Cedar streets, and police looked for him there.

When police found him, the suspect ran away and officers chased him, catching up with him in the 1400 block of Pacific Avenue.

The suspect had tossed the gun while fleeing, but police found it.

The victim declined to press charges against the man, but police arrested him for suspicion of carrying a concealed firearm and delaying officers in the course of their duties.

The suspect, identified as Kenneth Robinson, 28, of Santa Cruz County, was booked into county jail, police said.

Anyone with information about this incident was asked to call Santa Cruz police at (831) 420-5820.
