OAKLAND, Calif. —

A police pursuit through Oakland Wednesday afternoon ended in a crash east of Lake Merritt and police are advising people to avoid the area.

The pursuit started when police attempted a vehicle stop shortly before 4 p.m. near the corner of West MacArthur Boulevard and Market Street, police said.

The suspects fled and officers pursued the vehicle east to the intersection of MacArthur and Park boulevards where it crashed.

No one was injured in the crash. Police have not yet revealed whether any suspects were arrested.

Officers remain on the scene and are advising people to avoid the area.
