Police in Northern California say they have arrested a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of killing an 87-year-old attorney and his wife in April.
Davis police tell the Sacramento Bee the boy was arrested Monday and is the only suspect in the stabbing deaths of Oliver Northrup and his 76-year-old wife Claudia Maupin.
Police found the couple dead with multiple stab wounds at their Davis home on April 15. Northrup had failed to show up for a performance with a band he plays with, and his band mates were concerned. Police said there were signs of forced entry, but it did not appear to be a burglary.
Assistant Chief Darren Pytel says the boy is being held without bail at Yolo County juvenile hall. His name was withheld because he's a juvenile.
Watchdogs are questioning an exclusive agreement between the City of Oakland and a non-profit group, tapped to lead a multi-million dollar project to redevelop the area around the Coliseum BART station.
