SONOMA COUNTY, Calif. —

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office Tuesday night remained at the scene of a triple fatal shooting at a home in a rural area near Forestville.

The Sonoma County Emergency Dispatch Center received a call Tuesday afternoon from a person who found the three people dead at  9707 Ross Station Road at around 3:15 p.m.

Authorities arrived at the home and confirmed that the three male victims had been shot and killed in one of the bedroom of the home. Authorities cordoned off the area with crime-scene tape and set up a command post near the home in the rural area off Highway 116.

At around 7 p.m., the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department received a signed search warrant to enter the premesis and process the home for evidence. Investigators were also interviewing persons related to the three victims in an attempt to learn more information that would point them towards possible suspects.

During an evening press conference on the slayings, authorities confirmed that the bodies had been found by a woman and her boyfriend, who was the brother of one of the victims. The man had come to the residence after having not heard from his brother for a period of four to six hours.

While authorities would not reveal anything about the victims or any possible suspects, a sheriff's department spokesperson said that the shootings were not a murder-suicide or a random crime.

"I don't believe there is any danger to any of the citizens of Sonoma County or anywhere else," said Lt. Dennis O'Leary of the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department.

Authorities said there did not appear to be a struggle prior to the shootings.

Personnel from the sheriff's department said that they would remain on the scene of the shooting into the night collecting evidence. Authorities said that they hope to identify a suspect or suspects soon.

The county coroner is not expected to removed the bodies until Wednesday.
