SAN JOSE, Calif. —

Two men have been arrested for the fatal shooting of a teen in San Jose last week, police said Friday.

Jacob Craig Whitley, 20, and Louis Sanchez Reyna, 21, were arrested on Saturday in connection with the murder of 18-year-old John Cody Sonenberg on Dec. 11, according to police.

Sonenberg was found shot near a crashed car in the 1400 block of Fairhaven Drive near Paul Moore Park at about 3:20 p.m. that day, police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe Sonenberg was shot during an attempt by the suspects to rob him of narcotics, police said.

Police believe there may be more victims in the Paul Moore Park area who have also been robbed by the same suspects but have not reported the crimes because the theft was of narcotics. Anyone who was victimized by the suspects is asked to come forward to police.

Both suspects remained in custody as of this morning.

Anyone with information about the case is urged to call Detective Sgt. Steve Bustillos or Detective Jaime Jimenez from the Police Department's homicide unit at (408) 277-5283.

People wishing to remain anonymous may call Silicon Valley Crimestoppers at (408) 947-STOP.
