OAKLAND, Calif. —

Two people were shot and injured this evening in Oakland while stopped on MacArthur Boulevard, according to police.

The shooting occurred around 5:30 p.m. when the two male victims were stopped at a stop sign on the 6800 block of MacArthur, Officer J. Moore said.

Following the shooting, the victims were involved in a crash near the Edwards Avenue on-ramp to Interstate Highway 580, Moore said. The subsequent investigation shut down the ramp for several hours.

However, Moore said the victims were able to transport themselves to a hospital for treatment, and their injuries are not considered life threatening.
