RICHMOND, Calif. —

A woman was killed early Friday and a man suffered multiple gunshot wounds in a Richmond home invasion robbery, according to police.

Two people were detained in the shooting a short time later with the help of San Pablo police.

Richmond police Lt. Shawn Pickett said that officers police responded to reports of a shooting in the 3200 block of Moran Ave. at around 3:56 a.m.

Officers arrived at a home and found a man shot multiple times, and in a different room a woman was found shot and deceased, Pickett said.

Pickett said there was more than one suspect in what appears to be a home invasion that was interrupted by the home's residents.

A K-9 unit was searching the area as officers work with witnesses, who are young family members of the victims and shaken up by the shooting in their home, Pickett said.
