Woman stabbed in leg during Bayview purse snatching

SAN FRANCISCO —

A woman was stabbed during a purse snatching in San Francisco's Bayview District on Wednesday afternoon, police said Thursday.

The stabbing was reported around 4 p.m. near Hollister Avenue and Hawes Street.

The 36-year-old victim was walking down the street when a male and female suspect approached, according to police.

The female suspect grabbed the woman while the man took her purse. The victim tried to run away but was stabbed in the leg by the female suspect, police said.

The suspects, described only as between 25 and 30 years old, then fled and remain at large, according to police.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for her injuries, which are not life-threatening.
