PETALUMA, Calif. —

The driver of a pickup truck that crashed into a small SUV in Petaluma Tuesday morning was rushed to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, a fire battalion chief said.

The crash occurred around 10:10 a.m. on Ely Boulevard South at Casa Grande Road near Casa Grande High School.

The roof of the truck was cut off to remove the driver from the overturned pickup, Battalion Chief Jeff Schach said. The truck driver's condition was not immediately available that afternoon.

The SUV driver suffered minor injuries while the rear of the SUV sustained major damage, Schach said.

Petaluma police were investigating the accident Tuesday.
