DALY CITY, Calif. —

A two-alarm fire in Daly City Wednesday morning damaged a home and sent one person to a hospital, a North County Fire Authority spokesman said.

Firefighters responded to reports of a fire at a two-story house at 480 Westlake Ave. at about 9:45 a.m., spokesman Matt Lucett said.

Arriving crews found smoke and flames coming from the home's roof.

The fire was quickly extinguished, and all residents were able to get out of the home.

One person was taken to a hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation, Lucett said.

The exterior of an adjacent home was damaged, he said. Fire crews remained at the scene for several hours.

Six adults and three children displaced by the fire. The American Red Cross Bay Area Chapter was helping them find temporary living arrangements.

The cause of the blaze was still under investigation Wednesday.
