MARIN COUNTY, Calif. —

Two adults were hospitalized after a packed SUV drove off a Highway 1 cliffside and crashed into a ravine 200 feet below in Marin County Wednesday afternoon.

Minutes after 4 p.m., CHP dispatchers received reports of a vehicle rolling down veering off the highway and down the 200 foot-tall cliff into a patch of trees.

Out of the six people in the car -- four of whom were children, ages 10-14 -- only the two adults were injured in the crash.

By 4:48 p.m., the passengers had been extricated from the vehicle and both lanes of the highway were re-opened.

A tow truck was on its way to pull the SUV out of the ravine as of 5 p.m.
