Firefighters battle grass fire near I-80

FAIRFIELD, Calif. —

Firefighters are gaining the upper hand on a grass fire burning near Interstate Highway 80 in Fairfield, a Cal Fire dispatcher said.

The fire, reported at 2:50 p.m., has charred 4 to 5 acres but is no longer spreading, the dispatcher said.

No structures burned and no injuries were reported.
