MILIPITAS, Calif. —

A Sig-alert on northbound Interstate Highway 880 in Milpitas was canceled Saturday after a garbage truck fire blocked a lane and a connector ramp to state Highway 237 for about two hours that morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fire on the back of the truck was reported at 9:53 a.m. The alert was issued at 10:17 a.m. and was canceled at 11:49 a.m., according to the CHP.

The truck had pulled over, blocking one northbound lane and the connector ramp to Highway 237, which remained open despite the blocked access, according to the CHP.
