HAYWARD, Calif. —
An injury crash blocked two eastbound lanes on the San Mateo Bridge during the height of the Wednesday morning commute, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Initial reports indicated that the crash involved at least two vehicles and that one party may be trapped inside a car.
The CHP issued a Sig-alert for the bridge just east of the high rise at 7:38 a.m.
At 7:46 a.m., the CHP was preparing to close all eastbound lanes to allow a medical helicopter to land on the span.
