SAN FRANCISCO —

A cab driver was injured early Wednesday when his vehicle careened out of control and crashed into a neighborhood store, San Francisco police said.

Authorities said the crash occurred at around 4:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Harvest Urban Market located near 8th and Notoma Streets.

The driver lost control of the cab, slammed into two cars, took out a parking meter and then slammed into the side of the market.

Arriving firefighters needed to use the jaws of life to free the driver from the wreckage of the front of the store. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries.

No one else was injured in the crash, police said, and a cause of the accident was still under investigation.
