Fairfield police officer injured in crash

FAIRFIELD, Calif. —

A Fairfield police motorcycle officer was injured in a crash Wednesday morning, a police spokesman said.

The on-duty officer was riding his motorcycle in the 1600 block of West Texas Street around 8 a.m. when he collided with a car, Officer Cleo Mayoral said.

Mayoral said the veteran officer suffered minor to moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital to be treated.

No other injuries were reported.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, in accordance with the Police Department's protocol for such officer-involved incidents.
