Family and friends gathered at an Oakland funeral home Friday morning to say farewell to a 1-year-old boy was who killed while sleeping next to his father.
Drew Jackson was killed the morning of Aug. 7 after shots rang out in the 400 block of Ghormley Avenue, striking Drew and his father Andrew Thomas.
He was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Thomas, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The father and son, who lived in Fresno, were staying at a relative's home for a birthday party and extended their stay to mourn the death of Thomas' 18-year-old cousin Alquino Rivera, who was fatally shot four days earlier.
