Firefighters attempting water rescue behind Rockridge Shopping Center

OAKLAND, Calif. —

Oakland firefighters are attempting a water rescue of a victim who may have fallen into a lake behind the Rockridge Shopping Center Tuesday night, fire officials said.

The victim may have fallen into the body of water surrounded by steep cliffs in the 4400 block of Montgomery Street.

Firefighters were planning to rappel into the quarry to search for the victim. Crews remain on scene Tuesday night.
