FAIRFIELD, Calif. —

Firefighters in Solano County quickly contained several small fires burning along Interstate 80 Wednesday afternoon that may have been arson.

Authorities first received reports of the fires at about 4:30 p.m. along Westbound I-80 near Red Top Road in Fairfield.

At least one lane was closed so crews could reach the fires, which were quickly contained.

No injuries were reported.

At 6:45 p.m., the CHP announced that all lanes were open and the sig alert was cancelled.

Authorities also searched the hillside for a shirtless man seen near the blaze holding a gas can right after the fires started.
