Major injuries in car crash west of Santa Rosa

SANTA ROSA, Calif. —

One person suffered major injuries in a crash on Occidental Road near Piezzi Road west of Santa Rosa Thursday morning, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.

CHP Officer Jon Sloat said a silver Toyota struck and knocked down a power pole and telephone wires around 9:45 a.m.

The pole fell on top of the Toyota, according to the CHP.

The eastbound lane of Occidental Road was shut down and two-way traffic control was in effect.
