Nearly 1,000 PG&E customers without power in West Oakland

OAKLAND, Calif. —

A power outage in West Oakland is affecting nearly 1,000 PG&E customers Tuesday afternoon, a utility spokesman said.

The outage was reported at about 1:35 p.m. and was affecting 998 customers as of 2:20 p.m., PG&E spokesman Jason King said.

The areas affected include customers between Third and 14th streets and Clay and Castro streets, Eighth and 16th streets between Adeline Street and Mandela Parkway, as well as Union Street between 20th and 26th streets, King said.

Crews were on site and working to make repairs that afternoon.

Power was expected to be restored by 4:30 p.m., according to King.

The cause of the outage was under investigation Tuesday afternoon, he said.
