One person was killed when a crop duster crashed near Winters Wednesday afternoon, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The downed plane, used to aerially apply pesticides or fertilizer, was reported to the CHP at 4:20 p.m. near northbound Interstate Highway 505 just north of Wolfskill Road, CHP Officer Chris Parker said.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor said it appears there was one fatality in the crash.
According to the CHP, a wing reportedly came off the plane.
