SANTA ROSA, Calif. —

A pedestrian died in a hospital after apparently being struck by two cars outside of Santa Rosa Tuesday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The collision was first reported at 8:02 p.m. near the intersection of West Avenue and Meekland Court in an unincorporated area of Sonoma County near Santa Rosa and Roseland.

CHP officers received reports that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian there, and then a second vehicle had struck the pedestrian while down in the road.

The pedestrian was transported to a hospital in critical condition but died there later tonight, according to the CHP.

Both drivers stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
