SAN BRUNO, Calif. —

A southbound commuter Caltrain slammed into a semi-trailer truck near San Bruno Monday afternoon, severing the vehicle in half but fortunately no one was injured, officials said.

Caltrain Public Information Officer Christine Dunn said train #152 struck a tractor trailer at Angus Avenue about 2:30 p.m.

The force of the collision severed the truck in half and left the trailer wedged between the train and a railside warehouse.

Fortunately, officials said the truck driver and passengers and crew on the train all escaped injury.

All traffic on the busy commuter line was shut down and a second train was enroute to carry the passengers on Train #152 to their destinations.

Rush-hour commute traffic on the rail line would be slowed because officials were being forced to single track trains around the collision site.
