KTVU and Wires
OAKLAND, Calif. —
A stalled AC Transit bus on the Bay Bridge triggered a massive backup on the Tuesday morning commute, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP Officer Ron Simmons said a Sig-Alert was issued for westbound traffic at about 6:50 a.m.
The bus stalled at the westbound center anchorage, blocking one lane. Traffic was slowed further as the passengers were transferred to another bus.
The CHP advise drivers that traffic would be slow on the bridge to the end of the morning rush hour. Commuters were advised to take the San Mateo Bridge if possible.
