SAN FRANCISCO —

Scores of volunteers are hard at work serving meals at San Francisco's Glide Memorial Church for its annual Thanksgiving feast.

Lines began forming late Wednesday for the meal that includes turkey, ham stuffing and gravy. The church expects to serve more than 5,000 meals Thursday to the homeless and less fortunate.

Glide's minister, the Rev. Cecil Williams, said that the meals are not only about helping feed those need but to also assist those who have fallen on hard times.

Williams says we "must make sure people can overcome all adversities."
