Man dies after fight at Oakland Burger King

OAKLAND, Calif. —

Police responded to fight at a downtown Oakland fast food restaurant that turned fatal in the city’s 41st homicide of 2012.

Police received reports at around 8:20 p.m. of a fight at a Burger King restaurant on 13th Street and Broadway.

The incident began as a man, who appeared to be intoxicated, entered the restaurant and began harassing an elderly woman, police said.

A fight broke out shortly after between the intoxicated man and another man, police added.

The fight spilled out into the street and the allegedly intoxicated man fell down, police said.

He died on his way to the hospital.

Police said the second man fled the scene on foot.
