OAKLAND, Calif. —
All lanes of northbound Interstate Highway 580 have reopened in Oakland Friday morning following a multi-vehicle crash that may have involved a hit-and-run, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision, which occurred just after 10 a.m. on northbound Highway 580 just north of High Street, appears to have involved five vehicles, one of which may have fled the scene, said CHP Officer Sam Morgan.
There were no injuries reported in the crash, Morgan said.
The collision shut down the two left lanes of the freeway for about an hour, but that closure was lifted shortly after 11 a.m.
Some tragedies at hospitals might be unavoidable, but a mother and father who lost their 21 month old daughter at Children's Hospital Oakland say it's what happened after their daughter's death that has continued to torment them.
