SAN FRANCISCO —

San Francisco police announced Friday night that they arrested a 32-year-old man in connection with three recent sexual assaults on three different women in San Francisco's Mission District.

Frederick A. Dosier faces charges including attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment, three counts of robbery, six counts of sexual penetration, lewd or lascivious acts, two counts of assault with intent to commit rape, battery, kidnapping and rape, police said.

Police said the first attack happened June 17 when a woman was walking along South Van Ness between 24th and 25th streets early in the morning, police said.

The alleged attacker came up to her from behind, grabbed her and threw her to the ground, police said. The victim was then dragged behind a car where she was sexually assaulted and robbed.

The second violent attack occurred Nov. 18 at Potero Avevnue and 24th Street. She was also tackeled from behind, sexually assaulted and robbed.

The most recent attack happened in December at 24th and Fair Oaks streets while the victim was walking to the gym early in the morning.

“It just really shocks the conscience of a neighborhood to know that this is happening literally on the sidewalks,” said San Francisco police inspector Joseph Hannery.

Police were able to make an arrest after someone called their anonymous tip line.

Police arrested the suspect at 4:30 p.m. Friday at a public housing complex along Cesar Chavez Street.

DNA evidence linked the three cases to Dosier and each attack occurred in the early hours and was carried out in a similar manner, police said.

“They were walking by themselves, they were approached from behind and thrown to the ground,” Nannery said. “There was physical violence.”

Police said Dosier has a criminal history of robbery, yet wouldn’t give details.

Police said they are looking into whether he's responsible for other attacks.
