SAN JOSE, Calif. —

Memorial services will be held Saturday morning for a man who was shot and killed by two armed robbers in an attempted carjacking outside of a 7-Eleven store in San Jose last week.

Police said San Jose resident Rory Park-Pettiford, 22, was killed by two suspects who went on a crime spree in San Jose the night of Nov. 16 that allegedly included the shooting of a police officer.

A public viewing will be held for the Campbell native at the Darling Fischer Memorial Chapel in Campbell at 231 East Campbell Ave. at 10 a.m. Saturday. The service will begin at 11 a.m.

A donation fund to help cover burial costs has been set up. Payments may be made via www.roryparkdonations.com.

One suspect in the 22-year-old's murder, Jonathan Wilbanks, 26, of San Jose, is in custody. Police say that Wilbanks and his accomplice robbed four East San Jose businesses and started a shootout with police that injured an officer.

Police continue to search for the accomplice, and earlier this week released a sketch of that suspect, who is described as Hispanic or black man between 20 and 25 years old who weighs about 180 to 200 pounds. He is about 5 foot 10 inches to 6 feet tall and was wearing a gray, hooded sweatshirt and white tennis shoes at the time of the crimes.

San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed announced this week that the reward for information leading to the suspect's capture has been increased to $20,000.

Anyone with information about the second suspect's identity or whereabouts is urged to contact San Jose police Detective Sgt. Craig Storlie at (408) 277-5283. Anonymous tips can be made by calling (408) 947-7867 or visiting www.tipsubmit.com.
