Redwood City Sexual Assault Suspect Sketch Released

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. —

Mountain View police have released a sketch of a man who sexually assaulted a 26-year-old woman as she took out her trash late last month.

The woman was in an enclosed garbage collection area outside her home in the 800 block of East El Camino Real at about 4 a.m. on Jan. 26 when the man attacked her, police spokeswoman Liz Wylie said.

The suspect assaulted the woman in the enclosed garbage area and fled after the victim kicked him multiple times, Wylie said.

The woman suffered minor bruises but was not seriously injured.

The suspect is described as a white or light-skinned Hispanic man in his late 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build. He was clean-shaven with short brown hair and was wearing a blue sweater with a small stitched triangle in the front collar area, blue jeans and a black belt.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call police at (650) 903-6356. Callers may remain anonymous.
