SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. —

A small charter bus killed a man while he was working on the vehicle Thursday morning in the Mission.

Investigators said the man was lying underneath the bus trying to repair just before noon. That’s when the bus rolled off concrete risers and onto the worker.

The yard where the incident occurred was home to companies called Cali Party Bus and Lucky Tours.

It was unclear which company the man worked for.

No one could say how the accident happened, but it appeared that there was some wood used to block the tires and somehow it failed.

San Francisco police are investigating, but California OSHA was the lead investigator.

By the Thursday afternoon, fire crews had come in and jacked up the bus so the medical examiner's staff could come in and remove the body safely.

The victim's identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
