Two people killed in separate traffic accidents Saturday

SAN JOSE, Calif. —

Two men were killed in fatal accidents that occurred within less than three hours of each other in San Jose Saturday morning.
The first collision occurred just after 9 a.m., when an elderly male was struck by a 1994 Ford Mustang driven by a woman in her 20s while crossing the 4100 block of Monterey Boulevard with a bicycle.
The victim was taken to Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:48 a.m., Sgt. Jason Dwyer said.
The second collision occurred just before noon on the 5800 block of Camden Avenue, near Malpas Drive, when a 54-year-old woman driving a 2008
Honda Fit collided with a 1955 Chevy.
The Chevy struck a pole, and the driver, a 60-year-old man, suffered major injuries. He was taken to Valley Medical Center, where he was declared dead at 12:39 p.m.
The drivers in both incidents stopped at the scene and were cooperating with investigators, Dwyer said.
The deaths are the 29th and 30th traffic-related fatalities in San Jose this year, and the 19th pedestrian fatality.
