Witness In Attack On Giants Fan Dies From Eating Peanut

LOS ANGELES —

Los Angeles police say one of the witnesses to the attack of a San Francisco Giants fan outside Dodger Stadium on opening day has died.

Police Cmdr. Andy Smith says Matthew Lee died over the weekend from an allergic reaction after eating a peanut.

Twenty-nine-year-old Louie Sanchez and 30-year-old Marvin Norwood have been charged with mayhem, assault, battery and other counts in the beating of Stow. On Monday, a judge continued the request to reduce bail for Sanchez from $500,000 to $100,000.

A court document portrays Sanchez as leading a rampage against Giants fans during and after the March 31 game.

Sanchez's attorney, Gilbert Quinones, said he had not seen enough evidence in the case to comment.

Arraignment for both men was set for Aug. 10.
